Retreat Center Contacts
General Policies
- Groups using the Retreat Center must have at least 10 and no more than 40 people participating in their event.
- There is a $35 use fee on Fridays if no meals are served.
- There is a $200 charge for Saturday-only retreats if no meals are served.
- There is no charge for children under 2 years of age.
- Weekend retreats are to end by 2 p.m. on Sundays.
- In order to conserve energy, smaller groups are asked to use only one side of the Center.
You Will Need to Bring
soap, shampoo, towels, pillows, sleeping bags/linens, and blankets.
Retreat Center Resources
include TV, VCR, DVD, podium, screen, easel, and high chair.
Telephones
You will be able to make calls to places within the United States from the Retreat Center. If you need to call outside the U.S. you will need to use a cellular phone or a calling card.
In Case of Emergency
Contact the directors immediately and call 911 for fire, rescue, and/or police assistance.
A first aid kit is located in the light box/hymnal closet of the conference room.
Winchester Medical Center is about 20 miles from the center. Take Route 522 S (toward Winchester) for 19.1 miles. Turn right onto Route 37 S for 1.7 miles to the next exit. Turn left onto Route 50 E. The hospital is immediately on the left.
Reservations
- A reservation may be requested by contacting Ed Tarpinian at one of the venues listed above.
- The person making the advanced booking will be contacted as soon as the reservation is approved or disapproved.
- Meal choices and full payment must be turned in to Ed Tarpinian two weeks prior to the retreat. Your group will be charged for the number of reservations you make that day even if fewer people show up. If more people show up than are indicated your charges will be adjusted upward later.

Weather Related Cancellations
If the weather becomes inclement and you feel you need to cancel your retreat, call Ed Tarpinian immediately. Your payment will be applied to a later retreat.
Meals
- The directors will provide all meals. No substitutes, please.
- Children ages 2-5 pay only 1/2 prices for meals. Children under 2 are free. All children pay full price for overnights.
- Use of the kitchen at other times or by anyone other than the Retreat Center Directors is prohibited.
- Dinner is to be served no later than 6:30 p.m. each day.
Menu Selections
Rules
- Food and drinks are permitted only in the dining area.
- No smoking is permitted in the building and on the grounds.
- No fires or open flames are permitted on the grounds except in the campfire area. The directors are to be informed that there will be a fire. There must be proper supervision, and flames must be put out before the group leaves the fire site.
- Alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs are prohibited.
- No furniture or equipment is to be moved from the property or its designated area unless it has been authorized by one of the directors.
- No one is to go beyond the center's property boundaries.
- No pets are allowed on the property.
- Fireworks and weapons (including bows and arrows) are not permitted.
- Motorcycles, trail bikes, or similar vehicles are not allowed.
- The natural environment is not to be disturbed. No plants or trees may be cut. Wood will be provided for the fireplace.
- All vehicles must remain in designated parking areas.
- No one other than the Retreat Center Directors is allowed the kitchen. The directors are the only people approved by the health department to prepare food. There is a refrigerator in the dining hall for personal food.
- Sleeping anywhere except the rooms is prohibited by fire code.
